Virtually the same long reach as the 24-105 with 1.4x (135mm f/5.6 v. 147mm f/5.6), it's lighter than the 24-105/4L. Not to mention the wide-angle of 18mm and the convenience of not having to put a TC on/off. Check often at Canon USA or other outlets for refurbished. ~$440 (or less if you catch one of Canon USA's sales) 2) EF-S 55-250 f/4-5.6 Intro. Quality. Samples. Verdict. The Sigma 24-105/4.0 OS is an interesting standard zoom: with a 4.4x zoom range, a constant f4.0 aperture and optical image stabilization it is an attractive package for people looking at a go-to zoom for their full-frame body. It delivers a pretty good overall performance too, with impressively high resolution
24-70 is sharper and faster and $1000 more expensive. You get what you pay for. If street is most important the low light benefit of the faster lens probably isn’t necessary. A lot of wedding photographers like the 24-70 for dark indoor photography.
Amazon.com. The Canon EW-83H Lens Hood is a short, conical-shaped "tube" that attaches to the front of the Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM Lens to shield it from extraneous light. This inexpensive accessory is a must-have for your camera system, as it helps prevent lens flare, ghost images, loss of contrast and other unwanted light effects. The much older EF 24-105 seems to have decent image quality, 4-stop IS and seems pretty decent value (408 euro new or ~300 used). I have the EF-RF adaptor in any case. Can see some RF 24-105mm f/4-7.1 IS STM / EF 24-105mm f/4 L comparisons HERE. I have the EF 24-105mm f/4 L, and at 70-105mm it is very soft.

I knew it wasn’t top-of-the-line Canon, but it worked well for me. Along came the 24~105 offering portability (only a wee bit heavier than the 28~135), good zoom range and top quality at three times the price. Quandary: is it worth sinking about USD $1250 on top of the $400 I spent last year on the 28~135? The solution: test and see. 3 days ago · Sigma 24-105mm f/4 DG OS HSM|A review: Build and handling. As part of Sigma’s high-end Art range, the 24-105mm is an impressively well-made lens. It has a solid, weighty feel to it and a high standard of fit and finish. However, it’s not described as weather-sealed, which is a disadvantage compared with its closest equivalents, the Canon EF As for lenses, the EF 24-70L f4 and f2.8 are currently £889 and £1799 here in the UK, so my point stands that Canon have set this new f4 lens price firmly in f2.8 territory. If Canon continues to provide no new APS-C offering and relentlessly greedy price hikes, I will definitely consider giving up on Canon and trying something else. Disappointed by Ef 24-105 f4 with M50. i have the classic (old version) 24-105 f4 that i loved on the EOS 40D, but whilst it is still lovely and surpirsingly nice to use (yes, know it massive, but roll with it) with the M50. However, i've been a little disappointed with the colour and feel of the images i'm getting on the M50, and it lacks that
canon EF 24-70 F4 in 2023. Wanted to know how does the 24-70 f4 hold up in 2023 considering the price nowadays which dropped significantly (around 450 dollars) Compared to rf 24-105 F4 for example? It does well enough—you can compare them on TDP .
I’m sure the f4 version is great but I am actually rocking an RP, 24-105 f4-7.1, and EF 50 1.8. It’s a pretty damn fun setup. I mostly shoot landscapes, but also hiking/skiing/climbing, my dogs, and friends. The 24-105 is real nice for landscape and general photography.
The Canon 24-105mm STM achieves its best overall DxOMark Score of 18 on the EOS 1Dx, 5D Mk III, and 6D, with scores when mounted on the 5D Mk II and 1Ds Mark III not far behind. The 24-105mm STM’s strongest performance overall is at 24mm f/3.5. For center sharpness, the lens resolves the greatest detail at focal lengths of 24 to 85mm using
The 40mm f/2.8 pancake was the first. For taking pictures, STM is a bit slower than USM, but the difference is not great. The 24-105 mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM is quick to focus in practice. The STM engine is a fraction quieter than the USM motor, and the accuracy turned out to be higher during our laboratory tests than with the 24-105 mm with USM motor.
