Hello chaps just found this thread and found it most interesting, I'm a mobile tech and have recently been given a mondeo 2.0 Tdci 2009 with this engine oil/fuel problem. My initial thoughts were to test diesel pump as this is a common problem amongst higher mileage engines, this was found to be ok.

Hello, I have the following problem with my Mondeo: ONLY and ONLY in 2nd gear when driving at constant speed the car accelerates by itself for 1 or 2 seconds every 3 or 4 seconds. So it is absolutely impossible to drive it with constant speed in the second gear. The car has absolutely no problem
So I risked a few quid on a cleaning spray and gave the MAF sensor a bit of a blast. And now the engine is smooth and quiet. All of the issues have disappeared and it's my new tractable and quiet friend, i.e. it's how a Mondeo 2.0 TDCi should be. It's such a great drive. See more.

After about 20s-40s starting you can hear the engine getting fuel and struggling to start but eventually starts and runs smoothly after. Without using the park heater the car starts just as fine as you would expect at -24 degrees celcius (=a little slow and with a furious sound) Here is the start after using park heater at about -15.

This issue was resolved with the help of users from another forum. For anyone interested: Injector 2 was leaking past the copper seal, removed injector, cleaned off all the carbon & replaced washer, car runs like new.
