If you replace the nozzle 1 with a nozzle with number 5, the ECU will still command nozzle number 1 to inject fuel but that nozzle is no longer attached to the engine because nozzle 5 is replacing it. But the ECU does not know that it is being replaced which causes the engine to not work properly. The same goes with changing the whole ECU.
